Dream A Little Dream

I'm a bit behind here, there's a few projects that I need to share, but for now, I'm just going to share my latest layout.

As I was scouring Pinterest for anything and everything, I came across this layout. Hello, inspiration! I was also inspired by my newly acquired Carta Bella goodies- from the Alphabet Junction collection. I wanted to pick up the blue and green in the girls' dinghy, and the floral paper fit the bill. (You will be able to find my layout here.)

I desperately wanted to use a coral colored patterned paper, but didn't have anything that matched that description, so once again turned to my new Carta Bella goodies, and pulled out another sheet of patterned paper.

After that, everything fell into place beautifully, until I began working on the title. Orange just didn't work with the color scheme, so how was I going to weave that into my layout? With some ribbon, of course! I searched my ribbon drawer for something that would compliment the chipboard title sticker, and I stumbled upon my American Crafts ribbons. Perfect!!!

The intention behind the colors I chose, other than to incorporate the blue and green theme into my layout, was to play up the sleepy/dreamy aspect of the photos. The motion of the waves, and being pulled through the water in their dinghy nearly put the girls to sleep. They've always loved water; they love it enough to be put to sleep by it! Its also where the chipboard title sticker comes into play, as well.

Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate the time you've spent with me tonight!

Peace Out

Hey hey everyone!

Just wanted to drop in and say a friendly 'hello' before stumbling off to bed. Its late, I'm tired, and so looking forward to a day off without the twinlets (though they'll be home around supper time tomorrow night), and a much needed appointment at the massage therapists in the afternoon. yippee!

but, before all that great stuff happens, I'll be back to share the weekend, some pictures, and a few layouts!

peace out and sweet dreams!

Storm!

Me and storms do not mix. They terrify me- especially during the overnight hours. When kids came along, I suddenly had to learn to swallow that fear and not let it get the best of me when they are around me. And, truthfully, sometimes I fail in that area- Addison sensed my anxiety when a hail storm blew through the campground last weekend. Thankfully, my mother in law ran over to our trailer just in the nick of time to make sure I was alright. She cuddled Addison while I tended to miss maren in the bath tub.

Last night, a storm rumbled through our area. Luckily, it wAs late in the evening, and the kids were fast asleep. After every super sonic loud bang, and after I relaxed after it shook my bones, I'd freeze again, worried the loud noise had woken up either or both my children.

I am so glad they did not inherit my fear of storms, and I am so glad that I think I'm succeeding in showing them storms are nothing to get worried over. Sometimes really loud ones surprise the girls- I can see it in their faces, but then they forget about it and carry on like nothing happened. Phew!!

I am also glad husband wAs there to cuddle me through it all.

~36~ both girls waving "hi hi" while we were in the grocery store- Addison to a man behind us in line at Wally world and maren to anyone that would pay attention to her as we left IGA.

~37~ glorious two hour naps after long nights lying awake waiting for thunderstorms to play themselves out (either the girls are coming down with something or they're currently in a growth spurt because over the last couple days, naptime has stretched to two hours or beyond. It's AMAZING!! I love it!)

~38~ snuggling up close to husband and clinging to him when I got scared

~39~ warm showers that feel particularly good for no particular reason

~40~ making a crad for someone special

Sleeping thru the Night

My precious children continue to amaze me on a daily basis. Currently, they are playing together. Maren gets this cute little giggle when she has a burst of energy, and she provides frequent entertainment for her sweet, gentle sister. It's so fun watching them!

But, what most makes me happy is how they are faring overnight, now that we are on to our second night of "no bottles after midnight". They wake up a couple times each, but neither fusses too much. They are doing extremely well. I wish I had done this MONTHS ago!

Now, are they waking cause they're hungry, or for another reason altogether? I'll keep an eye on them for a couple more nights before I start giving them advil at bedtime. I think we're still teething. Both girls have nearly FULL sets of teeth!
