Fresh Air

Because space is so limited in the trailer, and because we are camped in the trees without a nice patch of grass for the kids to play in, we decided to buy a picnic tent in order to increase the square footage they could play in.

My husband is so proud he could do something like this for the girls. I am happy they can play out of the house for a while! I don't want them to watch alot of tv, and this is a great way to stretch their imaginations and get some fresh air while they're at it. And as I type this, maren has climbed into her jolly jumper all on her own!! Way to go little bean!!!

(I really want to post a picture, but I'm unable to do so using my iPhone. Another reason I am desperately missing my computer!!)

Catch up

July has rolled around and it's found us still living in the fifth wheel, and hoping with every day that graces us that it will be the last. Moving into a house of our own and selling the old one seems like dim hope these days. Everytime we trip over a baby, baby gate, or ourselves, comes the inevitable "we need to get out of this trailer!"

Although our frustration is mounting with every mishap, the month of July has found us busy and continually proud and surprised by our children. The month began with maren taking up walking and more recently talking. We are saying "no", "mommy", "cookie", and a few others. I think Addison has begun saying "dad"- or at least very close!

My mother in law and father in law came to visit for a couple days a couple weeks ago while the rodeo was in town. It had been quite awhile since they saw the kids. We were even able to sneak in a quick date night sans kids one night. LONG overdue and THOROUGHLY enjoyed!!

Next came the most anticipated event: adding another member to our family. My sister and her (now) husband planned a surprise wedding for this past Saturday. We knew about it (my parents and I) but as for the rest of the family it was a shocker. It was fantastic! And I am so thankful to have a new brother (so is my husband)!!

We are home for a few days and then we are off again on a camping trip. We will be meeting up with my husbands step family for their annual family reunion- just basically an excuse for going camping. I am looking forward to it.

So I've beenneglecting writing becUse it's such a nuisance using my iPhone, but I suppose I should just suck it up, since it feelsike we'll be living in the trailer forever!!

Sleeping thru the Night

My precious children continue to amaze me on a daily basis. Currently, they are playing together. Maren gets this cute little giggle when she has a burst of energy, and she provides frequent entertainment for her sweet, gentle sister. It's so fun watching them!

But, what most makes me happy is how they are faring overnight, now that we are on to our second night of "no bottles after midnight". They wake up a couple times each, but neither fusses too much. They are doing extremely well. I wish I had done this MONTHS ago!

Now, are they waking cause they're hungry, or for another reason altogether? I'll keep an eye on them for a couple more nights before I start giving them advil at bedtime. I think we're still teething. Both girls have nearly FULL sets of teeth!

Today, two perfect, pink, tiny little babies joined our world and our family.

Our family was blessed with another set of healthy, beautiful, fragile twins.

Twin B was breach, so they were delivered by c-section, but mama is resting comfortably and soaking up the joy and elation she's feeling over meeting her children; finally, after 36 long weeks.

Welcome, Khouri twins, and congratulations to mama and daddy Khouri!!!

Hyper Baby

The kids continue growing so fast and changing so quickly before me. It's getting harder to keep up now!

I just wanted to share the highlight of my day; I've been waiting for this to happen for quite awhile, and was getting to the point where I thought the girls would never do it, just because Addison is so much gentler and more sensitive than Maren.

Thankfully, I was wrong!

Just now, for a short period of time, the girls got along for long enough to play with each other. What a precious moment! Maren was crawling around the kitchen and living room as fast as she could, squealing as she went. I don't know if she did anything out of the ordinary, or on this particular day Marens behavior struck Addison as particularly funny, bit they were both laughing as Maren, in her hyper frenzy was crawling around the trailer.

I love these babies so much!

The girls are growing up so fast! I'm not sure where Addison was at when I posted last, but in the time since, she's learned to crawl, stand up and just in the last week, crawl up stairs!! She is such a bright, happy girl. She often talks- sometimes rather loudly and quite animatedly. I love it!!

Karen has learned the "boo-hoo" sign-- brushing your finger across your lips in response to pity someone feels for themselves; she's even nailed it in the appropriate situation, too! I am currently trying to teach her the "Indian call"- patting your fingers over your mouth while saying "ah".

And, in the very recent past, the girls have graduated from grocery shopping in their stroller to grocery shopping in an actual shopping cart! And, I must say, they absolutely love riding in it! Both giggle like crazy. It's pretty darn cute. I'll have to find a picture of them in one...

I've also got a few pictures of the girls taking in their first carnival, but they are on the camera and not on my cell phone. It'll take a bit longer putting them up here, as we don't have Internet in the trailer!! That will have to happen when we move into an actual house and get the net hooked up!

Long time no see!

I didn't imagine it would be so long between posts. Lots of changes have occurred since my last post over a month ago. The girls and I decided to move into my sisters, rather than staying with my parents. But that didn't last long either. I got tired of hauling high chairs and suitcases and toys and strollers and pillows...

The last two weeks we've been staying in whitecourt, in the trailer, with Kyle. We are Ll together- and we are all loving it.

Our house in Saskatchewan still hasn't sold and the house of our dreams has been rented out. It's been tough over the last few months, and we are longing for a space larger than 32 feet long and probably 10 feet wide.

We remain hopeful, though, that our house will sell in a timely fashion, and finding another home of our dreams will come along. On the brighter side, I really like whitecourt so far. I find people really friendly.

Hopefully my next post won't be so far in the future.
